The Tafarki Foundation supports efforts aimed at helping Africa assure the
health of its population.
Africa's’ health system where in existence is overloaded.
With mounting challenges, such as the rising AIDS epidemic, the system is
stressed. Yet assuring Africa’s health is one of the cardinal
responsibilities of Africans, their leaders and allies.
Addressing this responsibility requires an updated, adequately trained and
funded workforce and infrastructure.
Africans and their allies must focus their efforts towards prevention,
promotion and protection of Africa’s health. A task largely delegated to
Africa's allies. Consequently Africans and their leaders do not spend enough
on these areas presently.
The Tafarki Foundation advocates that due to the limited resources, our
efforts in Africa must be more tailored not targeted.
Tailoring our efforts will require a public health system equipped to look at the current
condition as an African problem first.
Locally available resources must be
harnessed as a first step towards assuring Africa's health. Where
necessary, allies must be involved in a deliberate and relevant manner, not
as donors, but as equal partners in assuring Africa's health.
The Tafarki Foundation is an attempt to assure the health of our
communities.
